Wow, what a time. I have never felt more free than my last month in Tasmania. I spent my time camping and hitch hiking, then my mate Saar and I rented a car and did a massive loop around this amazing island. It was worth every penny. I have to say, if I ever get the chance to explore this place again I will be taking a few months to do it, because I really only scratched the surface. The plant life here is prehistoric, it feels like you are in a rainforest a million years ago.
Arve Spur
Bruny Island: Waiting for the ferry
We packed our things and left for Bruny Island, this time we are so happy because we get to take Jacob with us. We had met these blokes from the U.K, Dave and Stacey, that morning who were also going to Bruny so we just hopped in a car with them. Funny how things work out... although half way across the island Saar looks at us and tells us we forgot the tent. So we went sleeping outside this night, which started an amazing trend. As long as it wasn't raining, we were sleeping outside next to the fire. No tents needed. The possums had a time harassing us though.
Port Arthur
Port Arthur is a beautiful place, although it got hit by a devastating bush fire, it was one of the many places that was affected during this time while I was visiting.
Wine Glass Bay
Sunset on the way towards Bay of Fire
Bay of Fire
The sand on Bay of Fire is so white, it was the closest thing to snow I got this holiday. The sand is so fine that it squeaks when you walk on it.
Devils Gullet
King Solomon's Cave
This spider is a cousin of a species of spider in South America. This is proof that once upon a time all the world was one land mass...
The Cave
Cradle Mountain
The wildlife is just as amazing as the plant life here, tons of marsupials here along with Achidnas, Platypus, Wombats, Devils and much much more. It was a paradise for me, the people are so friendly ... the weather could be warmer, but it reminded me of home. Very nice. I will always carry very fond memories of this place. See ya later Tasmania! It's been a slice. Next stop ... Alice Springs! Again!
