Day 3 Night 3 Desert Tour

We head towards Uluru today, we won't see it until tomorrow, but we're getting closer. Daylight saving mess us up big time today, we wake up an hour earlier than we planned. That's okay though, we've got A LOT of driving to do, something like 9 1/2 hours, so we will arrive in Kings Creek Station earlier than planned, therefore allowing time for a swim! : ) It is much deserved, seeing as how it will be 40 degrees outside and we are stuck in a bus for most of it. We hit another sunrise, it seems like the sunrises and sunsets are Toms favorite thing to witness in the desert, this is why we are not missing one.

Now, we are fed and hungover, and most of us are wide awake. Someone asks the day ender question "Can we drink on the bus?" Of course we can drink on the bus. A) It's Australia B) Tom's fucking awesome. Obviously we haven't gotten enough alcohol in our systems over the last 3 nights, so HELLO 9AM! Everyone cracks a beer, and starts yet another magical bus dance party.

The Irish

The French

The Canadians

Can dress us up, but you can't take us anywhere

Hey Jude's a universal tune, apparently. Oh how music can bring us together. No matter what language you speak.

One of the happiest moments, I won't forget. Sing-a-long.

Finally we make it to the border, the time for us is really messed up. We went from being a 13 hour time difference from home to going across the border in South Australia, which is a 1/2 hour back, then daylight savings, and then across the NT border, and we're drunk. So I have literally no idea what time it is in Canada. Also, we're drunk at the border, how fun! Then we have a nice lunch consisting of kangaroo wraps with veggies, mmmmmm!

There are no pictures from here to Kings Creek Station, because surprise surprise we all passed out for the rest of the drive. When we get there though, Chan and I encounter our very first camel. She's 30 years old, and used to race and be ridden, they tried to let her go back into the wild, but she just hangs around the camp ground. Too cute.

Australian Cattle dog, we called her Dog Meat from Mad Max obv.

We sit and learn a lot about Asian culture from these lovely ladies, Fiona and Joey from Hong Kong. Thanks for your patience girls! There isn't much more to this night, we were all so tired and hungover. No partying for us. I spent my time getting to know the group, and learning about different cultures. The red sand is amazing to me, I spend a lot of time walking with no shoes. It's so fine, but my skin, my clothes and my luggage has all turned this red colour. I wouldn't change it for anything. I love the desert. Tonight we sleep under the stars in our swags again, I am buying a swag, they are just perfect.

We see Uluru for the first time tomorrow.
