Melbourne to Princetown

There is a sense of freedom when it is between you, your travel partner, and the open road. The road that literally seems endless, and brings you to some of the most amazing sights that you have ever filled your eyes with.

First, our camper van. This was exciting enough for us, we got to represent Run DMC. Talk about travelling in style.

This is our home for the next week.

So we celebrate with a hot box. What else do you do in a hippie van???

I cannot do any justice to the feeling I received when we initially hit the road, we were giddy as hell, scared, and free. Probably for the very first time. The Great Ocean Road was breath taking, I cannot describe it and give it justice, so I am very glad that we had our cameras with us. The first time we saw the colour of the ocean, we were both speechless  probably for the first time ever.

Day One: We meet up with Sam and Loring on the road. We make as many stops as we can before we look for a place to sleep.

Night One: We stay in Otway National Park, there is literally no one around, and we were quite timid our first night out in the bush. That might be an understatment, but we drank our goon anyways.

Sam is out of his comfort zone, he feels we are very strange to be living like we are ...

Loring cooks up some chilli.

GOON!

The night ended rather abruptly when something made a noise outside our van, Chan and I jumped under the covers and didn't move for the rest of the night.

Day 2: We started our day at 4:30am, we needed to get out of there as soon as possible, we suffered for about an hour before either one of us were brave enough to get out of the van.

But when we hit the road, everything was great, we took a turn off for Otway National Park and this time we got our first viewing of native animals in Australia.

Like Baby cows <3

Can you spot the Wallaby?

There were literally hundreds of Koalas sleeping in Gum Trees.

After spending hours and hours marvelling at this park, we finally made our way towards the Twelve Apostles. We only did the first half this day because we were so tired, and we wanted to get settled into our next camping spot.

We pulled into a B & B to use the washroom, we offered the lady who owned the place some money for a place to pee and change our clothes. She said no charge, come in, shower, and have some coffee... We sat with her for some time and talked about life essentially, she told us some places to visit, so we took her advice. When we left we offered her a Canadian pin, next time I am on the Great Ocean Road I will visit her.

We visited Gibson Steps

That's where the Twelve Apostles start.

Now we take Robin's advice and settle in Princetown. This is our set up as we make coffee and supper.

Not to mention a field of Grey Kangaroo in our backyard.

What a view!
